Location

Mousehole was described as "the prettiest village in England" by Dylan Thomas as he spent his honeymoon here, Nestling on the east coast of Cornwall. With the sea on one side, and the magnificent countryside on the other. A charming village, its narrow cobbled streets, blind alleys and granite cottages give it an unforgettable character. Inside the harbour, two sandy beaches provide a safe and peaceful place to enjoy.

Mousehole is actually spoken as "mowzul".

Mousehole has a variety of amenities in the local village including a newsagents, grocers and post office. It also boasts a superb selection of craft and gift shops and also a small art gallery. There is also a selection of tearooms, restaurants and a two pubs, not forgetting the fish and chip shop too!.The village also contains a chapel and the famous wild bird hospital & sanctuary. For public transport in and out of Mousehole. A regular bus service runs back and forth to Penzance providing access to the rail and coach links.

Traditionally every Christmas, the harbour is beautifully decorated with an dazzling display of lights. The illuminations reach all around the harbour, the nearby pubs, shop and houses up to the road on the South. They are switched on at 5.00pm and turned off at 11.00pm, The display starts on the 16th December and carries on into the end of the first week in January.

Outside of Penzance day trips are available to the Scilly Isles (via Sea or Air) or further parts of Cornwall are easily accessible from Penzance via the A30 motorway.
